Huskies Make Offer to Former Alabama DT in the Portal

Isaiah Hastings appeared in just one game for the Crimson Tide in two seasons.

With the University of Washington football team looking to recruit a defensive lineman or two before next season, Kalen DeBoer’s staff has offered former Alabama defender Isaiah Hastings presently on the transfer portal.

In this scenario, the Huskies can focus solely on potential rather than results – Hastings appeared in just one game for the Crimson Tide over two seasons, covering four snaps.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive tackle is a late bloomer in football, having traveled from Toronto to play an abbreviated senior high school season in Florida before entering the SEC powerhouse and being buried on the depth chart. His 84-inch wingspan is one of his promising characteristics.

After seven games and 24 quarterback hurries and six sacks for Clearwater Academy International outside of Tampa in 2021, Hastings received 30 offers and picked Alabama over Florida, Georgia, Michigan, and Oregon.
