Good News: Colts get a positive injury update on RB

The Indianapolis Colts trounced the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-13 on Sunday, but they looked like a MASH unit near the end.

Receiver Michael Pittman was concussed after taking a vicious, illegal hit, while running back Zack Moss had a shoulder injury that forced him out of the game.

Pittman will stay in concussion protocol and will be examined throughout the week, but the early word on Moss is positive, according to Adam Schefter.

“Colts’ RB Zack Moss plans to try to play Sunday at Atlanta, despite the fact that he injured his shoulder vs. the Steelers, per source,” wrote Schefter on ESPN. “X-rays on Moss’ shoulder were negative and he has to, in the words of a source, ‘see how progresses through the week.'”

Injuries are a major concern for the Colts as they try to win the AFC South and make the playoffs. On Saturday, Indianapolis’ depth was put to the test against the Steelers. Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson combined for 157 yards rushing against the Steelers despite the absence of Jonathan Taylor and the loss of Moss.

As the Colts continue their playoff drive, they will face the Atlanta Falcons. Despite their struggles this season, which included a 9-7 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, the Falcons’ defense ranks 10th in yards and eighth in scoring.

They’ve been a formidable opponent at home, going 4-3 with victories against the Texans, Packers, and Saints.

Having Moss back for the game, as well as Taylor and Pittman, should help the Colts finish off the faltering Falcons and secure a position in the AFC Playoffs.
