Good News: Browns wide receiver returns to practice ahead of the Texans playoff game

The Cleveland Browns are on their way south to face the Houston Texans in the first game of Wild Card Weekend, and they got some good news as they wrapped up their week of practice with the return of wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Cooper has missed the previous two games due to a heel injury received in his historic performance against the Texans in Week 16.

Cooper was still sidelined as the Browns’ first-round playoff game approached, resting his heel ailment on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Cooper, fortunately, was able to return to the indoor field on Thursday, the team’s final day of practice before departing for Texas.

Cooper’s return is a huge boost for the offense, which has prospered in recent weeks because to his rapport with quarterback Joe Flacco and Flacco’s other ties with players like David Njoku and Jerome Ford.

While Cooper returns, another receiver is still out. Cedric Tillman, a rookie wide receiver, did not practice this week because he is still in concussion protocol following a big hit in the Week 18 game against the Bengals.

Tillman joins kicker Dustin Hopkins in missing the week due to injury. Hopkins was judged “unlikely” to participate at the start of the week due to a hamstring ailment.
