Giannis Antetokounmpo Blows Milwaukee Bucks With brutal Reality After Defeat Vs. Blazers

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Portland Blazers 108-102 on Sunday, pulling off the largest comeback victory of the season despite trailing by as much as 26 points at one point.

Undoubtedly, the Bucks emerged victorious, but it is equally evident that they once again dug themselves a hole in this one.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Calls Out Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks needed Giannis Antetokounmpo to be at the top of his game to pull off a stunning comeback against the Blazers. In the end, he finished with a game-high 33 points on 11 of 21 field goals, along with three blocks, six assists, 16 rebounds, and a steal.

Despite his team’s tremendous effort, the previous MVP of back-to-back games could not help but criticize them when they gave up a sizable lead early in the game:

“Sometimes we just make it tough on ourselves,” Antetokounmpo said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Don’t get me wrong, I think Portland is a very good team. Young team, play hard, big defenders, play the right way. But we just make it tough. We can’t start the game like that. We should not be down 26 and try to come and win the game. That takes a toll on your body.

“But at the end of the day I’m happy that we were able to win. I’m extremely proud of the guys that played, kept their head up.”

This story is not new to us. This season, the Bucks have suffered numerous blowout losses. This one is by no means the first. The only thing that’s changed is that they managed to emerge victorious from the dead this time around.

Milwaukee won’t always be like this, though. Consider the difficult defeat to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday. In that game, too, the Bucks were behind by a significant margin until Giannis and company launched a fierce second-half comeback that ultimately failed.

The Bucks cannot continue to allow their opponents to get off to fast starts, as Antetokounmpo stated. They were fortunate on Sunday, but they won’t always be in this situation. Not to mention the amount of physical and mental effort players must put into these spectacular comeback attempts.
