Georgia Tech Commit Releases Photos From Visit To BYU Football

BYU football had a busy weekend with official visitors.

During the trip, BYU received pledges from four-star composite receiver LaMason Waller and Georgia native Tucker Kelleher.

The Cougars are now looking to sign another recruit from Georgia, who paid a visit this weekend. That’s Sam Turner, a three-star wide receiver from Southwest DeKalb in Decatur, Georgia.

To get Turner, BYU would have to flip Turner, who is presently committed to his hometown Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Turner committed earlier this month, during an official visit to Atlanta.

On Saturday, he concluded his formal visit to BYU, which included water tubing, barbeques, and a photo session inside LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Turner posted photos from his visit to BYU on his Instagram and X pages.

On X, Turner wrote, “Coug fans…How y’all feeling.”

One of the pictures he shared included current BYU cornerback Therrian “Tre” Alexander.

BYU linebacker commit Tyler Payne, who was also on an official visit this weekend, commented on Turner’s Instagram post, “Yk (you know) the move!”.

Turner is ranked 464th overall in the 247Sports Composite for the 2025 class. He is the 53rd prospect in Georgia.

BYU is the second school he has visited since committing to Georgia Tech. Last week, he went to see the Liberty Flames.

Turner, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 195 pounds, is a multi-sport athlete who competed in basketball and baseball during his prep career.

Turner caught 55 passes for over 950 yards and eight touchdowns for Southwest DeKalb last season.

Turner also received offers from Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, and Mississippi State, all of which are Power Four schools.

BYU has nine commitments for the 2025 recruiting class and is ranked 63rd in the 247Sports team rankings.
