Georgia signs a wide receiver from USC

The Georgia Bulldogs signed Southern California wide receiver Michael Jackson III after he entered the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday.

On Thursday, the Georgia Bulldogs gained a key transfer from Southern California. Georgia landed USC wide receiver Michael Jackson III, who had just entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Radi Nabulsi, a prominent Georgia reporter, reported Jackson’s plan to go to the Bulldogs. Nabulsi broke the news on X, the website that was previously known as Twitter.

“USC wide receiver Michael Jackson III has committed to Georgia out of the transfer portal,” Nabulsi stated in a statement.

Jackson attended Southern California for three years. He had 46 receptions for 498 yards and five receiving touchdowns while with the Tojrans. As a sophomore in 2022, he had a career-high four touchdowns. Despite three years, there appears to be a lot of untapped potential here. So Jackson certainly expects to capitalize on that potential in other ways.

Georgia certainly needs a receiver, and this isn’t the first time they’ve used the portal to find one. Head coach Kirby Smart has obviously expressed interest in acquiring wide receivers from the transfer.

Georgia finished another excellent season with a blowout of Florida State in the Orange Bowl. The Bulldogs fell short of their aim of winning three straight College Football Playoff titles. But, make no mistake, this is still one of the best programs in the country. With the acquisition of Jackson on Thursday, they may have improved.
