Georgia quarterback Current favorite to win the Heisman Trophy next year

Over the last two decades, the University of Georgia has been host to several iconic names in college football.

Names like Matthew Stafford, Nick Chubb, AJ Green, Todd Gurley, and others have been at the forefront of college football and have won multiple awards. Regardless of the revolving door of exceptional talent. Georgia hasn’t had a Heisman Trophy winner in nearly 40 years.

Carson Beck, on the other hand, has a good chance of breaking the Bulldogs’ streak. The quarterback, who threw for nearly 4,000 yards in 2023, revealed recently that he would forego the NFL Draft and return to Georgia for the 2024 season.

Beck’s performance in the 2023 season, along with more than four years of collegiate experience, has elevated him to one of the betting favorites to win the Heisman Trophy following year. Beck presently has +750 odds of being the recipient next season, according to Action Network. Which he shares with fellow SEC quarterbacks Jalroe and Quinn Ewers, both of whom he will face in the 2024 regular season.

Beck and the Bulldogs will kick off their 2024 season on August 31st against the Clemson Tigers. It will be the first meeting between the teams since the Bulldogs won 10-3 to start the 2021 season.
