Georgia Football signs talented tight end. Benjamin Yurosek through transfer gateway

Georgia Football acquires another player through the Transfer Portal. The Dawgs signed Benjamin Yurosek on Friday. Yurosek spent four years at Stanford and was regarded as one of the top tight ends not just in the Pac-12, but also in the nation.

Yurosek put up impressive numbers while at Stanford. He has caught 108 balls for 1,342 yards over the last three years as a starter. Yurosek was the Cardinals’ leading receiver in 2021, with 658 yards.

Yurosek played in six games in 2023, catching 16 catches for 239 yards. He was sidelined for half the season due to a shoulder injury. The injury should have little effect on his performance in the 2024 season.

Yurosek is from Bakersfield, California, and the analogies to Brock Bowers are not too farfetched. Yurosek has even carried the ball at Stanford, like Bowers did for the Dawgs during the last three seasons. Yurosek carried 11 times for 53 yards.

Before Yurosek arrived in Athens, the Dawgs’ tight end room was already filled with talent. The Dawgs feature Oscar Delp, a rising junior who took over for Bowers when he was injured. Delp recorded 24 catches for 284 yards and three touchdowns in 2023 and is expected to have an even larger 2024.

Furthermore, the Dawgs have Lawson Luckie, Pearce Spurlin III, Colton Heinrich, and Jaden Reddell at tight end. It will be interesting to see what the Dawgs’ offense can achieve with so much quality in one position.

Since the Transfer Portal launched in December, the Dawgs have added offensive players. Kirby Smart has brought in Trevor Etienne, Colbie Young, Michael Jackson III, and Landon Humphries as offensive weapons to supplement Carson Beck’s arsenal.

Georgia’s offensive will be fantastic in 2024, and the addition of Yurosek will only make it more exciting!
