Georgia Football signs ex arch-rival running back

Georgia Football received another Christmas present, which arrived on Christmas Eve.

Trevor Etienne, a former Florida running back, has made his decision and stated that he will play for Georgia. The 5’9, 205-pound running back carried the ball 131 times for 753 yards and eight touchdowns.

This is a huge win for the Dawgs. Georgia will either lose Milton or Edwards in the draft, or both. The Dawgs required both a seasoned and a dynamic running back. Etienne instilled in Georgia both of these characteristics. Kirby Smart has done an excellent job of getting men through the gateway.

Smart has addressed every need of the Dawgs and upgraded several places. Georgia is putting everything into Carson Beck and the offense. This offensive has so many weapons that it goes one or two deep in practically every position. Not only does Etienne give the Dawgs depth at running back, but he also provides a home run hitter out of the backfield.

Last year, the Dawgs needed a long-distance running back with the mix of speed and power; Etienne fills that void. As you can tell, I like Etienne as a running back; I just wish he hadn’t played at Florida.

It will be strange to root for a player who has crossed over from the opposing team, but this will be the standard in college football. Personally, I enjoy how Flordia supporters applauded Brenton Cox and Jalen Kimber leaving Georgia for Florida, and how they are now in disarray over Etienne leaving Flordia for Georgia. It’s just rich, and I prefer miserable Florida fans to life itself.

I won’t say the Dawgs will have the best offensive in college football history next season, but they will be lethal. Georgia supporters should be enthused about what the future holds for the Dawgs as a result of this recruiting class and what Kirby Smart has accomplished with the portal.

We could be in for a very remarkable fall this year. Georgia is bringing back the university, and Etienne has added to that moniker.
