Georgia Bulldogs Sign Prolific Wide Receiver From…

The Georgia Bulldogs did not have the season they desired.

While it was far from a disaster, the SEC Championship game loss to Alabama was painful. To make matters worse, several players have exited the program via the site. Kirby Smart is now flipping the script. London Humphreys, a former Vanderbilt wide receiver, has committed to Georgia.

Georgia Bulldogs Land WR London Humphreys

Humphreys was a valuable member of the Vanderbilt offense in 2023. He had 22 receptions for 439 yards and four touchdowns. He has three years of eligibility remaining and will help cover a vacuum in Georgia’s offense. Many of this year’s pass catchers are leaving for the NFL Draft, and returning quarterback Carson Beck may require some help. In a statement, Humphreys said the following.

“The level of efficiency within the program and how everything they do is calculated along with the amazing support system they have there. The relationship I have with the coaching staff is very important. I’ve gotten to know the coaches over the transfer portal process. I’m closest with coach BMac and from what I’ve heard they plan on having me be able to play any position but mainly the Z.”

Georgia 2024 Outlook

The Bulldogs will be keen to reclaim their position atop the collegiate football globe in 2024. It will be fascinating to see if they are affected by players leaving through the portal. While Kirby Smart has a strong recruiting class on the way, talent loss will be felt at some point. If it isn’t, it demonstrates how talented the Georgia program is. An early season showdown with Alabama highlights the 2024 calendar and will provide a first peek at which club has the inside track for the SEC.

Can Georgia bounce back after this season? They definitely have no shortage of talent and having Beck back under center will be helpful.
