Georgia Bulldogs one of top contenders for pass-rush talent

Javeon Campbell, one of Kentucky’s best football prospects, has named the Georgia Bulldogs as one of his top college recruitment targets, with eight other institutions.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound edge rusher attended Western Hills High School in Franklin, Kentucky. Despite starting his high school football career in 2023 after a background in basketball, Campbell made an immediate impact, recording a remarkable 14.5 sacks in his first season.

His mobility allows him to play both on the edge and inside the defensive line.

Ranked as a three-star prospect, Campbell holds the distinction of being the No. 430 player in the class of 2025, according to 247Sports.

Georgia extended an offer to Campbell on March 16, and he has already planned an official visit to Athens on June 21, 2024.

According to reports, Georgia, Ohio State, and Kentucky are the current frontrunners for his pledge. Campbell has scheduled visits to these three colleges, as well as Alabama, showing that he is seriously considering each institution in his recruitment process.

It will be intriguing to see if the Georgia Bulldogs can seal the deal against Campbell and the rest of the opposition.
