Geno Smith is under pressure due to the Seahawks’ injury report

The Seattle Seahawks will probably be without one of their most dynamic playmakers for the second straight game.

For the Seahawks’ primetime game against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, running back Kenneth Walker III was labeled as doubtful due to an oblique injury in their final injury report.

Walker had the same issue and was unable to see the Seahawks’ Thanksgiving 31-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

In that loss, his absence was felt as rookie Zach Charbonnet only gained 47 yards on 14 attempts against a formidable 49er defense.

Walker is a dynamic running back, and while his inconsistent play can be annoying, Seattle loses out on one of their most potent playmakers when he isn’t on the field.

In fact, in his second season in the NFL, Walker has already racked up five rushes of at least twenty yards. With ten of these runs, he tied for second place at the end of his rookie campaign.

The Seahawks would be very fortunate to have a back who can rip off those massive gains and relieve some of the load on Geno Smith in a game against another strong defense that excels at rushing the quarterback.

However, there is little chance that Walker will be available to do that, which makes the arduous task of winning in Dallas on the road all the more daunting.

With a game against the Philadelphia Eagles and a rematch with the 49ers coming up at 6-5, the Seahawks might seriously jeopardize their chances of making the playoffs. In the event that they do not make it to the postseason, Walker’s decision to skip two primetime games should not be underestimated.
