Free Agent Ex LA Receiver Channels Bolts for Colts

Terrell Bynum, a former rookie reserve wide receiver for the Los Angeles Chargers, is leaving the team.

The Indianapolis Colts have announced via their official X/Twitter account that the six-foot, 188-pound wide receiver has signed a reserve/future deal with the team. The 25-year-old Long Beach native played for the University of Washington Huskies from 2017-21 before returning to California to join Caleb Williams’ 11-3 USC Trojans.

Bynum appeared in 10 games for the Trojans in 2022, recording 16 receptions and one touchdown for 159 total yards. During his final season with Washington in 2021, he received honorable mention All-Pac-12 honors. Overall, he had 65 receptions and six touchdowns for 932 total yards.

His signing appears to be primarily a training camp/preseason job, despite the fact that Indianapolis has an abundance of free agent wide receivers in Michael Pittman Jr., Isaiah McKenzie, and Juwann Winfree. So maybe he has a shot.

The Colts went 9-8 this season, thanks mostly to Gardner Minshew and his enormous facial hair (who started 13 of the team’s games). They missed out on a postseason spot in the final game of the regular season, losing 19-23 to the Houston Texans. Perhaps Bynum can help!
