Foster, Muric, and Cork: Burnley team news update on their return from international break against West Ham

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany says Lyle Foster is still receiving the “best care possible,” but he has not given a timeline for his comeback.

The Clarets announced at the beginning of November that their striker will be taking a sabbatical to obtain mental health treatment.

In an update, Kompany stated Foster is still unavailable. Burnley will return from the international break at home on Saturday.

“We’re confident he’s receiving the best care possible, but that’s about all I can say,” he said.

“We can’t put a schedule on it, but we’re totally prepared to welcome him again and make sure he has a stage to play on. However, this is not currently the focus; rather, it is just about him getting well.

Arijanet Muric and Jack Cork will be absent from the Clarets on Saturday as Kompany’s team attempts to snap a five-game league losing streak.

Due to an infection, Muric was unable to attend Kosovo’s 1-0 loss to Belarus on Tuesday night, and Cork was absent due to a knock.

“An incident that occurred during training has kept us away from Corky for the past few weeks,” Kompany continued.

“Muric hasn’t returned yet, in regards to that. He hasn’t been practicing and hasn’t been able to play, but maybe he will get cleared tomorrow and be present for the game.

Hjalmar Ekdal and Manuel Benson, who are now healthy after missing time due to injury, might provide Burnley a boost.
