The Oklahoma Sooners’ official roster for the 2024 season has been released, and another piece of the puzzle will join the team this autumn.

David Rowaiye, a former New Mexico defensive lineman, joined the Sooners as a late transfer.

Rowaiye, a native of Oklahoma City, has spent the previous two seasons with the Lobos after joining the 2022 recruiting class. He was a three-star prospect who also had offers from Baylor and Eastern Michigan.

Rowaiye was redshirted by New Mexico in 2022, but he saw no playing time in 2023.

The Sooners have good depth in the defensive line entering the 2024 season, making it difficult to see the field. However, under the tutelage of Todd Bates, Miguel Chavis, Zac Alley, and Brent Venables, the Sooners may have a future star.
