Richard Stearman, a former Ipswich Town loanee, has departed Solihull Moors after his contract expired with the National League club.

The 36-year-old defender signed with the Moors to play non-league football for the first time in his career after being released by Derby County last summer.

Stearman played 27 games for the West Midlands team, although they were defeated by Bromley on penalties in the play-off final.

He competed alongside current Town goalkeeper Nick Hayes, who spent the second half of the 2023/24 season at the ARMCO Arena.

Stearman hasn’t featured for Andy Whing’s side since March, when he was sent off in a 1-1 match with Aldershot Town. He is one of the ten players released by the Moors.

In total, Stearman played 15 games for Ipswich during his loan spell from Wolves in 2013.
