Former Ipswich Town man ‘undergoing medical’ ahead of ‘seven-figure’ move

Troy Parrott, a former Preston North End striker, is reportedly set to depart Tottenham Hotspur after undergoing a medical with AZ Alkmaar.

That’s according to reports this morning. Parrott, 22, had one year left on his Tottenham Hotspur contract, but he has been given permission to go. Parrott would be returning to the Netherlands, where he scored 10 goals and assisted four times last season while on loan at Excelsior Rotterdam.

It is alleged that AZ and Spurs have agreed on a seven-figure price. Parrott has made four first-team appearances for Spurs, the last of which came in March 2020. He has four EFL loan moves in his career, with Tottenham being his sole permanent club in England. In 2022/23, Parrott played for Millwall, Ipswich Town, and MK Dons before joining North End.

While at Preston, the dynamic forward had a long-term hamstring injury that forced him to miss four months of activity. However, when Parrott was fit, manager Ryan Lowe routinely selected him, and he made 34 appearances, scoring four goals. On the international stage, the forward has 25 caps and five goals.
