Former Alabama Safety offers a mysterious message about his future with the Chicago Bears.

Could the Chicago Bears lose a defensive captain to a new NFL team?

Eddie Jackson has been a consistent presence in the Bears’ defensive backfield since 2017.

The South Florida native was picked in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of the University of Alabama. Jackson, a two-time Pro Bowl selection in 2018 and 2019, was named first-team NFL All-Pro in 2018. He is also ranked among the 100 Greatest Bears of All Time. In 100 career games, the 30-year-old has made 459 total tackles, 10 forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, 15 interceptions, 44 pass breakups, and three defensive touchdowns.

Jackson had a career-high six interceptions and 15 breakups in 2018.

On Thursday, he sent a mysterious message to his followers via social media, titled “New Beginnings.”

Bears supporters believe this is a message from Jackson about quitting the franchise. He has been one of the top safeties in the NFL, and he most likely wants to join a Super Bowl contender.

Jackson joined the Crimson Tide in its 2013 recruiting class from Boyd Anderson High School. He was named first-team All-SEC in 2015 after intercepting six passes and helping the defense win the Southeastern Conference Championship and the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Jackson won three SEC Championships (2014-16) with the Tide.
