Following his practice on Friday, Deshaun Watson’s status for Sunday’s match is updated

Following contradictory reports about Deshaun Watson’s shoulder injury, the Browns quarterback’s recuperation journey may finally come to an end in Week 7.

After Watson, 28, completed his first full practice since Week 3, the Browns (3-2) listed him as questionable for Sunday’s away game against the Colts. His improvement came after a restricted session on Thursday and a DNP on Wednesday.

With any luck, the news on Friday indicates that Watson’s four-week hiatus from the starting lineup due to a right shoulder injury sustained in Week 3 against the Ravens may come to an end. Watson missed Weeks 4 and 6 due to the injury, which was diagnosed as a deep rotator cuff strain. However, he was able to recover more rest during the team’s Week 5 bye.

Fascinatingly, several timelines were mentioned in recent publications of Watson’s return. Following reports from Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com on October 13 that the three-time Pro Bowler may miss several weeks until he was pain-free, Adam Schefter of ESPN stated on October 14 that Cleveland thought Watson might be ready as early as Week 7.

After witnessing youngster Dorian Thompson-Robinson struggle in a significant defeat to the Ravens and veteran backup P.J. Walker lead the team to a stunning upset over the 49ers, it now looks as though Watson could actually start in Indianapolis and return to the starting quarterback position.

Watson has completed 65 of his 102 pass attempts for 678 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions in his three starts this season.
