FEYENOORD IN A BATTLE WITH LEICESTER CITY FOR MOROCCAN STAR

According to L’Équipe, Feyenoord are interested in signing Rennes’ Moroccan star Ibrahim Salah.

After FC Lorient, Toulouse, Brest, Leicester City, and Olympiacos, the current Eredivisie winners are the latest to express an interest in Salah.

Ibrahim Salah has only appeared 24 matches in Ligue 1 after joining from Gent in January 2023 for €6.5 million. The 22-year-old can play anywhere in the front line but is yet to see much action in an underachieving Rennes side. Feyenoord have already made touch with Rennes, who are willing to loan out the Belgian-born star this month.

Salah had a tremendous effect for Rennes at the start of the season, scoring a brace in a seven-minute cameo in their season opener against FC Metz. He has only played thirteen minutes of Ligue 1 football since November 12th.

Feyenoord could need some extra attacking threat after failing to duplicate their spectacular title run last season. Arne Slot’s team is now second in the Eredivisie league, ten points behind leader PSV Eindhoven. If they want Ibrahim Salah’s signing, they’ll have to outbid numerous other great clubs.
