Fabrizio Romano reveals team’s plan for an exciting player as agent negotiations take place

After gaining promotion to the Premier League, the Tractor Boys’ star has expressed a desire to continue with the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Omari Hutchinson will negotiate his future with Chelsea following a successful loan spell in the Championship with Ipswich Town. This season, the 20-year-old forward helped the Tractor Boys win promotion to the Premier League and was named the club’s Young Player of the Year.

Hutchinson returned to Cobham this week after making 50 appearances for Ipswich this season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists. The freshly promoted team wants to keep the kid for their return to the Premier League, but many European clubs are also keeping an eye on the forward’s status.

Chelsea Could Keep Hutchinson and Loan Him Out

In his Daily Briefing, Romano suggests that Hutchinson is about to sign another loan deal:

“Omari Hutchinson, for instance, will be an interesting one to follow after his fine form on loan at Ipswich Town.

“There will be a meeting between Omari’s camp and Chelsea to discuss his future. There are clubs in Eredivisie, Bundesliga, and Premier League keen on signing him on loan.

“Another loan solution for next season is the most likely, as I’m hearing that Chelsea want him to play on a regular basis, while Ipswich also hope to keep him.”

Hutchinson joined Chelsea in 2021, after leaving Arsenal’s academy. He made his senior debut for the Blues last season, coming on as a substitute in the FA Cup Third Round against Manchester City. The 20-year-old also made his Premier League debut last season, playing 22 minutes in a 0-1 loss to Manchester City.

Hutchinson is also facing international rivalry, as he must pick whether to play for Jamaica or England. According to reports, Jamaica is intent on bringing Hutchinson to the Copa America next month.

The excellent winger has only one year left on his contract, so Chelsea will need to contemplate an extension if they want to loan him out next season. As Romano mentioned, the Blues anticipate Hutchinson to play regular minutes next year, so playing for Chelsea appears improbable.

Mauricio Pochettino already has a young group that has lacked experience and maturity at times this season, and Chelsea may want to change their tactics and acquire more veteran players in the upcoming transfer window.

Ipswich Keen to Sign Hutchinson

It has been tough for newly promoted sides to stay afloat in the Premier League during the last two seasons, and Ipswich’s hopes may depend on their ability to retain their key players. According to recent sources, the club wants to keep Hutchinson for next season and may sign another loan arrangement with Chelsea.

Hutchinson told Sky last week that he intends to continue at Ipswich Town next season after leading the Tractor Boys back to the top division for the first time in 22 years.
