Fabrizio Romano just offered an update on Nuno Espirito Santo future at Nottingham Forest

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the future of Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Forest defeated Burnley 2-1 at Turf Moor Wednesday to secure a third consecutive season in the top tier.

The Reds spent just 12 days in the Premier League’s bottom three, and with a four-point deduction, the team has completed its aim.

In December, Espirito Santo took over for Steve Cooper and led the club to victory.

Romano has now revealed some details about the boss’s future, and the City Ground outfit is preparing for next season.

Fabrizio Romano delivers update on Nuno Espirito Santo

The transfer guru took to social media this morning to provide an update on Forest’s head coach.

It is assumed that his position may not be safe beyond the summer, and negotiations with Espirito Santo are planned.

Romano has posted on X: “Understand Nuno Espirito Santo’s future at Nottingham Forest is still open after keeping #NFFC in the Premier League.

“The Portuguese manager will discuss with the club soon in order to decide the next steps, but there’s a chance he could leave Forest.”

Espirito Santo averaged 1.15 points per game on Trentside and won six Premier League matches.

Forest should give Cooper replacement chance to truly prove himself

This would be a really insane move by Forest.

Espirito Santo has done everything expected of him and secured Premier League football for another season.

Forest currently requires stability, and Espirito Santo has experience as a top-flight head coach.

The 50-year-old deserves the opportunity to shape the group however he sees fit.

Pushing reset again wouldn’t make much sense.

In our opinion, Forest should consider who would be a better candidate to replace Espirito Santo.

The Reds just finished 17th in the Premier League. Ultimately, it’s unlikely that an exceptional manager will want the job.

Forest are currently in safe hands with Espirito Santo, and he deserves the opportunity to push Forest to the next level in 2024/25.
