Exclusive: Manchester United pushing in on contract for Ipswich Town youngster

According to reputed youth football source The Secret Scout, Manchester United are close to signing Silva Mexes from Ipswich Town’s academy.

Manchester United has one of the world’s best academies, and they frequently enter the EFL to entice great prospects away from lower league clubs. They appear to be preparing to raid Ipswich Town for one of their young talents.

At the age of 14, Mexes has had top clubs from all around the country watching his performances, but it appears like the Red Devils are on the verge of signing him.

Ipswich Town has produced some potential players throughout the years, with some getting into the first-team at Portman Road and others progressing to bigger things beyond the Championship club.

Luke Woolfenden, a first-team regular, and young midfielder Cameron Humphreys both came through Town’s academy. Interestingly, Harry Clarke also played for his local club’s youth before departing for Arsenal and returning in January 2023.
