Exclusive: Birmingham Battle With Rivals For The Signing Of La Liga Striker

Sunderland, Cardiff City, and Birmingham City are all interested in signing Sevilla forward Musa Drammeh on a free transfer, according to Football Insider sources.

Drammeh is now playing for Sevilla Atletico, the La Liga club’s B squad, and has helped them achieve promotion to the third division of Spanish football this season.

Sunderland rejected offers for the 22-year-old in the January transfer window, and Birmingham and Cardiff are now vying for his signature.

The Barcelona-born forward, who can play up front or as a right attacker, has turned down contract offers to stay with Sevilla and will leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer.

Drammeh’s power, pace, and adaptability have piqued the curiosity of several clubs, who believe he possesses all of the qualities necessary for success in English football.

Sunderland to battle Cardiff and Birmingham for Musa Drammeh

Drammeh has had a promising year, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 30 games.

That form has spurred Sevilla to try to extend his contract, but the forward plainly believes his chances of playing first-team games can be improved elsewhere.

Given that he is available on a free transfer and his wage demands are unlikely to be high for a second-tier team, any of the Championship clubs in question would be taking a low-risk gamble.

Sunderland would undoubtedly want to guarantee he comes to the Stadium of Light after their earlier efforts were knocked down in January, as they try to add another young talent to their already youthful side.

In the following weeks, a struggle could break out for Drammeh’s signature, with Cardiff and Birmingham also interested in signing him this summer.
