Former Pitt Panthers safety Damar Hamlin has a lot of respect for Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, and he made sure everyone knew it. When asked what Tomlin would have to do to win an NFL Coach of the Year award, Hamlin dismissed Tomlin’s lack of recognition, citing Tomlin’s status as a Pittsburgh great.
“He’s played a significant role in shaping Pittsburgh’s culture. You get what I mean? He’s Coach of the Year every year. Hamlin, a Pittsburgh native who played four years at Pitt, stated. “Just in terms of what he does for the community. So we adore him, and all of the athletes, particularly the young athletes who grew up in Pittsburgh, have a special fondness for Coach T.”
