Ex Bama defensive back declares transfer portal commitment to Florida State

Earl Little Jr., a former Alabama football defensive back, announced his transfer to Florida State on Saturday.

Following Alabama’s overtime loss to Michigan in the College Football Playoff semifinals on Monday, Little joined the transfer portal.

Little made the announcement on social media, wearing an FSU uniform. He was in Tuscaloosa for two seasons.

This season, the cornerback largely served as depth in the Tide’s defensive backfield, finishing with two total tackles. He also served on special teams.

Before the season, UA cornerback Terrion Arnold lauded Little’s efforts.

“Earl is a great playmaker, teammate, and a great guy,” Arnold remarked in August. I’ve seen a wide range of stuff. Earl’s maturity is the most impressive thing I’ve seen from him. He doesn’t get too high or too low, and he simply keeps coming in here and working every day.”

He arrived at Alabama as a four-star recruit from American Heritage High School in Florida. He chose Alabama over Florida State, Southern California, and Arizona State, among others.

His two seasons at Alabama were plagued by shoulder injuries. He most recently tore his labrum, with the LSU game acting as his final on-field appearance of the season.

Little was one of a slew of players who left Alabama’s squad via the transfer portal after the season. Due to CFP participation, UA players have an extended opportunity to do so, with the ability to enter through Saturday.
