Ex Alabama defensive player signs an NFL reserve/future deal with Super Bowl Champion
|Isaiah Buggs will resume his professional career as a Super Bowl Champion.
He joined the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad on January 4, two days after being released by the Detroit Lions.
The Louisiana native helped the Chiefs win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in Sunday’s Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, Nevada. Buggs is the latest University of Alabama alum from the Nick Saban era to win a Super Bowl championship. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Buggs has signed a reserve/future contract to stay with the Chiefs.

The sale was completed on Tuesday, allowing Buggs to continue to build in his new NFL home. He was a College Football Playoff National Champion for the Crimson Tide in 2017 and a Southeastern Conference Champion in 2018 before beginning his professional career.
The 6-foot-3, 335-pounder is poised to become a standout on Kansas City’s defensive line.
