Everton received a warning from Birmingham City regarding Wayne Rooney

The Blues has been forewarned that Wayne Rooney, 37, has his heart set on returning to Everton and that he may quit St. Andrew’s to play for his old team in a few years.

According to talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil, who has said that if he can establish himself with Blues for a few years, he will like to move to Goodison Park.

Blues’ decision to fire John Eustace, despite the fact that his team was sixth in the Championship after 11 games, and replace him with Rooney, who excelled in difficult situations at Derby County but underwhelmed at DC United, has generated discussion throughout the EFL and beyond over the past week.

The new manager has been tasked with playing “no fear” football and fostering a winning mindset by the club’s American owners, who claim they believe he is more in line with their goals.

Rooney has given an explanation of what fans may anticipate from him as part of his three-and-a-half-year contract at St Andrew’s.

He expressed his joy at joining Birmingham City Football Club at such an exciting moment on the club’s website. They clearly have a strategy in place and are dedicated to seeing their vision for the club through. On what is expected, we are totally in agreement. I’ve been developing my managerial career and placing myself in demanding situations in order to be prepared for this opportunity.

I am eager to begin this endeavor since it gives me a sense of purpose.Along with a core of seasoned senior pros, the team includes several promising young players who have yet to make it into the First Team.

My coaching staff and I will work hard to put my clear vision of how I want the squad to play into practice. Here, we’ll develop a winning culture with a distinctive identity that will excite Blues supporters.

“When I was a player at St. Andrew’s, Birmingham City supporters were always vocal and devoted to their team. It was a tremendously challenging place to arrive as an adversary, and now I get to see what it’s like to have them on our side. I’m excited to start my role of taking the Club to the next level. I am aware of the demands, and it is our responsibility to meet them.”

If Rooney does well, there will undoubtedly be links to Premier League teams, and former teams Manchester United and Everton are likely to be among them.

Birmingham has been forewarned that the former England captain, who was born in Merseyside and started his career with the Toffees, could one day leave them to become the manager at Goodison Park.

Brazil told Gabby Agbonlahor on talkSPORT that “you know where he’ll go.”

“I think Wayne will go to Everton if he can succeed with Blues,” he continued.

Not yet, no. He requires a few years. He can show himself, but if the team is supported financially and he succeeds, I believe he is an Everton player at heart.

Should Everton supporters be concerned that Wayne Rooney may eventually join Birmingham City?

Given the prominence of his boyhood team and Rooney’s connections to them, it’s hardly unlikely that he’ll want to return to Goodison Park in the future.

The 37-year-old has already been connected to the Toffees position, and if he succeeds at Birmingham, you can bet he will be one of the favorites for the position when it opens up.

Having said that, it is way, far too soon for Blues supporters to be concerned about Rooney leaving for better opportunities. He signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with St Andrew’s just as he was getting his feet under the table.

Bluenoses will for the time being only be thrilled about what the future could bring under their new manager and aspirational American owners.
