ESPN names a pair of former Bulldogs to its “All-Playoff” First Team

This year marks the tenth season of the College Football Playoff, which has served as the primary championship structure in college football for the previous decade.

During that time, a number of exceptionally talented college football players, including legends, appeared in multiple postseason games.

With almost 25 games to pick from, ESPN decided to create a “All-Playoff” featuring the greatest players at each position from this era. Here are the two Georgia Bulldogs who made the list.

BROCK BOWERS (2021-2023)

According to ESPN, Bowers was one of the simplest choices when putting together this list because no other player during this era has been quite as dominant as the Napa, California native. Bowers appeared in four playoff games with the Bulldogs, catching a touchdown pass in three of them. He also won the prized Mackey Award two years in a row.

NAKOBE DEAN (2019-2021)

Dean, the Butkus Award winner in 2021, demonstrated his leadership and outstanding playmaking talents during both playoff game appearances, totaling more than 10 tackles and ultimately helping the Bulldogs end their 41-year title drought.
