EPL side rekindles interest in Nottingham Forest man

Tottenham are considering signing Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The 23-year-old was offered to them last summer when he was surplus to requirements at Chelsea, but Spurs decided to go elsewhere. On deadline day, they signed Brennan Johnson from Forest for £47 million, while Forest signed Hudson-Odoi for a reduced fee of £3 million.

Spurs’ assessment of Hudson-Odoi has altered following a successful season at Forest, and he is now on their wishlist for what is likely to be a big summer. The former Chelsea youth standout ended second in Forest’s scoring charts with eight goals, all of which came in the Premier League. If Forest is persuaded to sell, they can expect to make a significant profit.

It is no secret that Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou wants to enhance his attacking options, which have been stretched thin by injury this season while the club has not played in Europe. Following their fifth-place finish in the league, they will have a Europa League campaign next season.

In September, Postecoglou lost another winger he signed last summer, Manor Solomon, to a season-ending injury. He relied on the captain, Son Heung-min, Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, and January loanee Timo Werner in wide positions. Richarlison, a nominal No. 9, also played on the flanks. Spurs are still to decide whether to use the £15 million option to make Werner’s transfer from RB Leipzig permanent.
