Eagles acquire crucial depth by acquiring two young players who were formerly with rival organizations.

The Eagles defense adds depth by acquiring players who have previously played for rival AFC East teams.

The Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos have competed since 1960, long before Tyler Hall and P.J. Mustipher were born. However, we have reason to believe they are aware of the feud. The Raiders have filled out a few change of address documents over the years, but that hasn’t diminished their dislike for their opponents from the Mile High City. The Philadelphia Eagles have their own squabbles with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants, among others, but they’ve been around long enough to watch what’s going on in the other league and periodically replenish their own cupboard by raiding these AFC West opponents.

The Birds’ brain trust recently made a handful of low-key additions, including two former Las Vegas and Denver residents.

DB Tyler Hall and defensive tackle P.J. Mustipher are low-risk Eagles signings that could pay off quite nicely.

Your idols might sometimes turn against you. No, wait… That is from a Machine Gun Kelly rip album. We meant to add that free agency can turn enemies into teammates. Yeah, that is where we were going.

Tyler Hall and P.J. Mustipher, two defensive stars, would never have faced off against each other in a Raiders-Broncos football game. If we’re being precise, Mustipher wasn’t in the Mile High City long enough to get a taste of this age-old Raiders-Broncos rivalry.

Mustipher went undrafted in the 2023 NFL draft before being selected by the Broncos. On August 29th of that year, he was waived and re-signed to their practice squad, but the New Orleans Saints later signed him.

The Saints did not extend Mustipher after the most recent NFL season. On March 19th, Philadelphia formally announced his contract (along with linebacker Oren Burks, another underappreciated addition). A day later, we discovered that Tyler Hall, a defensive back, had also been added.

Hall turns 26 on Halloween. He, like Mustipher, did not get drafted. Unlike Mustipher, he developed his skills while playing for Wyoming. He has played 31 regular-season games as a professional.

Hall started three games in 2022 and 2023. He also has experience in playing the slot cornerback position. Raider wiz Alex Monfreda offered some high praise recently.

Mustipher, who stands six-foot-four and weighs 315 pounds, has only played four games but has four tackles to his name. Hall, who is five-foot-ten and weighs 190 pounds, has 46 tackles, a sack, and four pass breakups.

Mustipher will most likely face a more difficult path to make the Philadelphia 76ers roster because he is competing with Thomas Booker IV for roster consideration, while both are looking up at Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Milton Williams, Marlon Tuipulotu, Moro Ojomo, and Noah Elliss on the depth chart.

Hall joins Darius Slay, James Bradberry, Kelee Ringo, Zech McPhearson, Eli Ricks, Isaiah Rodgers, Josh Jobe, Mario Goodrich, Mekhi Garner, and Tiawan Mullen as listed cornerbacks on Philadelphia’s current offseason roster.
