DPJ’s Exit Makes Way For Cedric Tillman

The Browns were enjoying their first-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft, which would come up next, while the Arizona Cardinals had just made their decision in Round 3. They were going after two Tennessee Volunteers who were on the board.

The New York Giants’ clock began running when they selected with pick No. 73. After a while, the ESPN jingle started to play on TV, and the pick was in. They effectively took over the Browns’ decision by selecting Jaylin Hyatt, the speedster.

The Browns were in the running, and almost instantly, General Manager Andrew Berry submitted his selection. The 6’3 Cedric Tillman was being brought to Cleveland by him in order to bolster the wide receiver depth of the Browns.

It wouldn’t make sense to bring DPJ back on a contract that would be reasonable for him given the structure of the offense. It was becoming clear that his time in Cleveland was running out.

For Peoples-Jones, the trade deadline on Tuesday marked the end of the road in Cleveland. He was traded by the Browns for a sixth-round draft pick to the Detroit Lions, his home team.

It could be an awesome opportunity for DPJ to go shine for the team he grew up rooting for as they continue to show they’re perhaps the best team in the NFC.

Cedric Tillman now has a chance to start leaving his imprint on the Cleveland Browns football team this season thanks to this transfer.
