‘Don’t get that luxury’: Vincent Kompany on giving some hard facts

After a dismal start to the season, Vincent Kompany claims that his Burnley teammates no longer have the “luxury” of avoiding some hard realities.

But the Clarets’ manager is certain that his team has the appropriate kinds of people in the building to help them escape their current situation.

Following a dismal start to the season, which saw them finish with just four points from their first 12 Premier League games, Burnley is now at the bottom of the standings.

Even with the dismal string of performances, Kompany is still optimistic the Clarets will get through this difficult time.

“I have experienced these moments as a player because I have lived through them and haven’t always been at the top,” he remarked.

The most admirable quality of this group is how sincere and diligent they are. I can’t stress this enough: they are the guys you should always follow if you want to get behind a group of individuals. You would wish their success.

“They are so intense every day. They’re also being forced to hear and face a lot of truths, which is difficult because it seems like the current mindset prefers to brush things under the rug and possibly not offend too many people. They are not granted such luxury.

Every time they are confronted with their accomplishments, shortcomings, areas for improvement, and the sessions that go along with it.

“They’ve worked so hard and with such discipline that they almost set an example.” It indicates to me that they are the appropriate individuals to work with, and we will all eventually be rewarded for this.
