The club is pleased to announce the loan acquisition of striker Kieffer Moore from AFC Bournemouth.

The attacker joins Portman Road on a contract until the end of the season, marking the Blues’ fourth acquisition in the January transfer window.

Kieffer returns to Portman Road after a period with Town from 2017 to 2018, during which time he was a regular scorer in the Championship, played and scored in the Premier League, and earned 39 international caps for Wales.

The 31-year-old will wear the number 24 shirt for Town and might make his debut against Preston North End on Saturday.

“It’s great to finally get it over the line because it’s been a long time coming during the window,” Kieffer explained to TownTV.

“I remember my first spell here, and I’ve gone away and worked really hard on myself since then, so I’m thrilled to be back and can’t wait to get started.

“I was really excited when I spoke to everyone here and now I just want to meet the group, get out on the pitch and contribute.”

“We are delighted to have signed a striker with strong Championship pedigree, as well as experience in the Premier League and at international level,” Manager Kieran McKenna said.

“Kieffer will bring some valuable technical and physical attributes to the team. We believe his professionalism and approach will contribute to the group’s existing culture.

Town CEO Mark Ashton stated, “We’re happy to have finalized a move for a player who was always our top priority.

“A wide range of personnel at the Football Club have contributed, including Luke Werhun, Gary Probert, and the recruitment team, as well as Kieran McKenna and his coaching staff.

“We’re delighted to have got it across the line during a challenging window, with not a lot of movement across the leagues, and bring a current Premier League striker to the Club.”

Kieffer started his career in non-league, spending time in the Torquay development system before moving on to play senior football with Truro City, Dorchester, Yeovil, Norwegian club Viking Stavanger, and Forest Green Rovers in the National League in 2016.

From there, he joined Town in January 2017, playing 11 games before moving on loan to Rotherham and then permanently to Championship club Barnsley in 2018.

He stayed in the second tier with Wigan and then Cardiff before scoring four crucial goals to assist Bournemouth win promotion to the top division at the end of the 2021/22 season.

The striker, who scored in his first Premier League appearance against Aston Villa in August 2022, made his Wales debut in October 2019 and has scored 12 goals in 39 appearances, helping The Dragons qualify for EURO 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar before being called up for both events.
