Done Deal: Player from Norwich signs extension through 2028

Josh Sargent, a forward for Norwich City, has agreed to a new deal.

The 23-year-old has committed to the Canaries through the summer of 2028, albeit he is presently out with an ankle injury he sustained in August.

Before getting hurt, he scored three goals in Norwich’s first four games of the season. He has scored 20 goals total since moving to Carrow Road for £8 million from Werder Bremen in the summer of 2021.

In the USA’s three World Cup games last year, he participated.

Since I’ve been here, I’ve appreciated this club since they’re doing great stuff. According to Sargent, “I see myself as being a significant part of the team going forward.”

“I really want to get promoted with this club, it’s the biggest thing.” My season got off to a great start. In order to maintain that enthusiasm, I simply want to return as soon as possible.

“I will continue to do everything I can to help the team, to work as hard as I can, and I promise many more goals.”

Stuart Webber, the sporting director at Norwich City, added: “We’re thrilled that Josh will continue that journey with us as he continues to develop into a player who can play at the top level.”

“We’ve been keen to make sure our younger players are committed to longer contracts and believe in the vision of the club going forward.”
