Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown Comments on Passing Pro Bowl Before Week 18

The Detroit Lions are preparing for their final game of the season before the highly anticipated postseason.

The Lions haven’t made the playoffs in a long time, but they’ve had a fantastic season thanks in large part to standout wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

St. Brown had an outstanding season, but it was not enough to earn him a Pro Bowl berth. He had a career year for the Lions this year, with 112 catches, 9 touchdowns, and 1371 yards. He was irritated after being passed over for the Pro Bowl, but he is focused on showing himself in future years to get the call.

More importantly, Brown assisted Jared Goff in leading the Detroit Lions to their first division championship since 1993. So the fan base is much more excited to see them in the playoffs than to see Brown make an NFL Pro Bowl. Amon-Ra feels similarly as he prepares for the postseason. Despite this, he made numerous statements about not receiving the nod after such a tremendous year.

Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown Is “Hot” For Missing The Pro Bowl

In his press conference, the receiver expressed his disappointment at being passed over, saying:

“The receivers that got picked, they’re great players, but I was hot,” St. Brown said, via ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “I guess I didn’t do enough during the season, so I’ve got to go harder.”

He is undoubtedly correct about the other receivers taken, but he is also justified in his disappointment at missing out on the distinction after such a successful year. He was disappointed that he did not receive the nod, but he believes that this will encourage him to work better in the future. The young receiver will be special for many years to come, and while he did not make it this year, he will in the future.

More significantly, he and the Detroit Lions face a challenging postseason. The NFC is stacked with talented teams, and the Lions will need to stay focused if they want to make a deep postseason run. I’m sure this will inspire Brown even more to not just return strong next season, but to have a tremendous postseason this year.
