Despite his recent absences, Vincent Kompany believes his winger will play a significant role for Burnley this season

The winger’s three Premier League substitution appearances this season have only resulted in about 30 minutes of actual playing time.

After contributing to all four of Burnley’s goals in their easy Carabao Cup victory over Salford City, the 22-year-old was only added as a late substitute in the team’s next match against Newcastle and was later left out of the starting lineup for Burnley’s matches against Luton Town and Chelsea.

Even though Zaroury hasn’t played much, Kompany is optimistic that he will get the opportunity to contribute soon.

He can undoubtedly benefit us because he is a good player. For everyone, it’s been a leap to the Premier League,” he remarked.

“We had a discussion about the things that are extremely important for Anass to bring to the game and to level up with other people, not just him.

“Anass is headed in that direction; this weekend, next Tuesday, or the week after that, he’s going to be a key player for us.”

As is typical for Kompany, Burnley places a lot more emphasis on the group as a whole than on any one person.

In an effort to get used to life in the Premier League again, the Clarets are presently traveling to “level up” in the top division.

It will be visible to everyone. In any case, we can’t depend on individuals,” Kompany remarked.

“You don’t find any of the other teams saying, ‘This player is going to do it for us,’ when you look at Sheffield United, Luton, and all the other teams that came up.” Sadly, that isn’t feasible.

“Our goal is to prepare the team for the Premier League.” There was something there against United and Forest, but you have to show it every single week.

As a coach, I find that genuinely exciting. Though I’m ready for any situation, I want for the best. Not merely hope, that’s the perspective I have—I think the best is possible.
