Against the Indianapolis Colts, Deshaun Watson, the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, finally returned to the field after four weeks of speculation about his shoulder issue.

Sadly, the Browns quarterback’s comeback was short-lived as he left the game late in the first quarter following a brutal hit that sent him slamming into the Lucas Oil Stadium ground.

On the play, it seemed as though Watson had made his second interception of the game, but a review determined that the pass was incomplete. Following the play, Watson laid on the ground for a considerable amount of time, taking his time getting up, as the Browns training team took care of him.

Eventually he made his way to the sideline and was further examined by medical personnel.

Myles Garrett quickly returned the ball to the offense by forcing a strip-sack on the Colts’ next possession. Watson was notably replaced on the field at quarterback by P.J. Walker, who was spotted wearing a helmet and standing close to offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt on the sidelines.

However, a little while later, he returned to the team’s blue pop-up tent, where a designated NFL neurologist appeared to be examining the 28-year-old.

In an update on the CBS show, Aditi Kinkhabwala said that while Watson was cleared to play again, the Browns did not know why they were holding him out.

The former Texans quarterback had a terrible start to the game, completing just one of his five ball attempts for five yards and an interception before suffering the injury that caused him to exit the field.
