‘Definitely’: Leeds striker won’t be available for Saturday match

Joe Gelhardt sustained a hand injury during practice, but Daniel Farke said at Thursday’s press conference—as seen on Leeds United’s YouTube channel—that he did not require surgery. Nevertheless, Gelhardt will miss Saturday’s game.

After breaking his hand during training last week, 21-year-old Gelhardt was sent for additional evaluation to see if surgery would be necessary to correct the injury. The past three games have not included him.

After spending the second half of the previous season on loan at Sunderland, where he scored three goals in 20 games, this would be Gelhardt’s second loan away from Leeds. Similar financing is needed, but with more objectives.
