Crystal Palace manager’s response may put Ipswich and other two teams on red alert
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, Crystal Palace’s winger, has been highly sought after in recent transfer windows.
Teams such as Ipswich Town, Sunderland, and Southampton, among many others, have previously expressed interest in the youngster.
The winger rose to prominence during his loan term at Charlton Athletic last season, and when the summer arrived, it was assumed that he would be loaned out again, this time to the second division.
However, Palace elected to keep Rak-Sakyi, but the player has had a rough experience under former manager Roy Hodgson and now new Palace manager Oliver Glasner.
Given what has happened this season, teams may be eager to sign the player this summer, as he will want to return to football, therefore Ipswich, Sunderland, and Southampton may have just received a lift as a result of Glasner’s assertion.

“The situation is that we all agree with Eze, Olise and Mateta, it’s three amazing players in a really good shape.
“Ebs scores goals. JP scores goals. Michael scores goals and gets assists.
“With Jeffrey Schlupp, Jordan Ayew and Odsonne Edouard, we have three players who could start every game because they also deserve it with their quality and talent.
“It’s maybe now a tough moment for Jes. He’s coming back after two months from injury and now has six players here who are in fantastic shape and fit for a long time.
“It makes it hard for him now. He won’t be in the squad for tomorrow, but he’s really working hard to get his minutes.
“Every player has to show that they are ready. He does it and gives his best, but the situation now is the best situation for any manager – when all your players are fit and in a good shape.”

Given how Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has performed in the 2023/24 season, it is likely that Championship and even lower-tier Premier League teams may look at a potential deal for the player this summer.
This is because the winger was brilliant on loan at Charlton Athletic last season, and given that he is fighting for game time at Palace, a loan transfer next season appears to be the next logical step in his career.
Rak-Sakyi started 40 of the 43 League One games he played last season, scoring 15 goals at an average of 0.3 per game, or one every 233 minutes of sport, according to Sofascore.com.
In addition to his goals, the 21-year-old took an amazing 2.1 shots each game, at least one of which was on target. He also concluded the season with a 17% goal conversion rate, which is respectable for a player that played primarily out wide.
Rak-Sakyi was also a major contributor for his teammates, creating five huge opportunities and collecting 1.3 vital passes, all of which helped him earn eight assists, according to Sofascore.com.
So it’s no surprise that teams like Ipswich, Sunderland, and Southampton have previously associated with the player, and while they’re all in different positions as the season comes to a close, they may all be eager to resume their interest this summer.
The Tractor Boys may be in the greatest position, as if they secure promotion to the Premier League, they can likely persuade Palace to let him leave on loan to play more games in the top division. Southampton will aim to join them in that scenario, although Sunderland is aware that they will play in the Championship again next season, which may put them at a disadvantage.
In any case, these three teams will be on high alert following Glasner’s words, since if Rak-Sakyi does not appear between now and the conclusion of the season, a loan move next season appears to be a certainty.
