Edge Rusher Javion Hilson was added to Alabama Football’s 2025 recruiting class on Friday.

With the signing of Javion Hilson as the Crimson Tide’s ninth pledge, Alabama Football has gotten off to a tremendous start in the 2025 recruiting class.

Ryan Williams is the top wide receiver in the 2025 class, Anthony Rogers is the top running back, Zion Grady is the third-ranked edge rusher, Hilson is the fourth-ranked edge rusher, and Jamie Ffrench is the fifth-ranked wide receiver.

Hilson is a 6’4 225-pound edge rusher from Cocoa, Florida who is ranked 47th overall in the 2025 class and the fourth-ranked edge rusher. Hilson will try to establish a dominant edge rusher alongside fellow 2025 commitment Zion Grady.

The next four weeks will be a recruiting struggle for Nick Saban and the Alabama Football team as early signing day for the 2024 recruiting class approaches. Nick Saban has spent this week touring the country, making in-house and school visits to many of Alabama’s 2024 pledges as well as some guys the staff is hoping to flip.

When deciding on a school, many athletes base their selection on who they would be playing with. A fast start like Alabama Football’s can be huge in landing a talented class. Top players like Ryan Williams and Anthony Rogers can now try to persuade some of the nation’s greatest players to join them in Tuscaloosa.

Having numerous committed players a year in ahead provides an additional recruiting weapon when players enter no-contact periods when committed players can continue to attract players to the Alabama Football team. For the time being, the attention will be on the 2024 class, eleven days before early signing day, and whether 2025 commit Ryan Williams would reclassify.
