Cowboys’ Dream Signing of Chiefs’ Chris Jones? ‘Cut them….

Dallas Cowboys’ Dream Signing of Kansas City Chiefs Chris Jones? Cut Them Off, Bartender!

Frisco – If the Dallas Cowboys put together a “free agency dream list” for the 2024 NFL offseason based on quality, need, and fit rather than salary-cap realities, Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones might be at the top of the list.

He is a devastating force. He’s 29 and still in his peak. He plays in a position where Dallas requires assistance. And he has championship pedigree.

What is the issue, in addition to all of reality’s obstacles? He’s stated that he intends to continue establishing his “championship pedigree” in KC.

Jones has three championships with the club, and based on his comments during Wednesday’s Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, he intends to play out the rest of his career there.

“Kansas City, we’ll be back next year!” Jones declared. “And to those who want Chris Jones gone, I’m not going anywhere, sweetie! Woo! I’ll be here this year, next, and the year after. Three-peat! Three-peat! Three-peat!”

Obviously, nobody in Kansas City “wants Jones gone.” Jones’ agent, on the other hand, is joking that what he “wants gone” is the bartender, whom he believes over-served Jones into making comments that take away, if only somewhat, whatever power he and his client may have in future negotiations.

“Cut them off, bartenders!” agent Michael J. Katz tweeted in response to his client’s Super Bowl parade remarks.

Jones is as important to achieving the three-peat as anyone on that roster, including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes. So, right now, the Chiefs have every motive to reunite the band in pursuit of a three-peat. And what about the Cowboys and other possible Jones bidders who fantasize about stealing Chris Jones?

The bartender may as well “cut them off,” too.
