The referee has been picked for Saturday’s Championship game against Derby County, in which Watford hopes to extend their winning streak to four games in all competitions.

According to the EFL website, Geoff Eltringham will take command of the 3pm kickoff at Vicarage Road.

The County Durham-born official officiated two Hornets games last season, both of which resulted in draws: a goalless draw against Plymouth Argyle in September and a 1-1 draw against Southampton at Vicarage Road in December.

This will be Eltringham’s first Championship involvement in the new campaign, having taken control of two matches in the Carabao Cup and League Two to date in which he has issued a total of eight yellow cards.

Shaun Hudson and Richard Woodward are set to be the assistant referees for Saturday’s encounter, with James Linington the fourth official.
