Confirmed Injury Status for Chicago Bears Running Back For Sunday’s Game Against the Lions

According to Jeremy Fowler, D’Onta Foreman, the veteran running back for the Chicago Bears, has had his ankle injury verified.

Foreman has performed admirably while carrying the load for the Bears’ running game this season.

How Does This Impact The Chicago Bears Offense?

Khalil Herbert, the Chicago Bears’ first-choice running back, will be a positive addition. But since joining the Bears this offseason and taking over for the injured Herbert in the starting lineup, D’Onta Foreman has performed admirably, accumulating over 350 yards and three touchdowns while averaging a very respectable 4.3 yards per carry over the previous five games.

Although the return of Herbert, the team’s obvious number one, is more crucial, the Chicago Bears’ quest for success in the second half of the season will surely benefit from having a solid, trustworthy backup back in addition to rookie developing back Roschon Johnson. Particularly since they currently hold the first overall pick in the draft, having also acquired the Carolina Panthers’ first-round selection.

They take on the fast-moving, 7-2 Detroit Lions, who currently hold the second seed in the NFC, this week. They will need to run the ball efficiently to support Justin Fields in the passing game if they hope to hurt the Lions and position themselves to stay up with their explosive offense.
