Good news for the Indianapolis Colts: a number of starters returned to practice on Thursday.

However, wide receiver Alec Pierce was added to the injury report after not appearing on Wednesday.

Pierce was out from practice on Thursday due to a shoulder issue, according to the report. There are yet no further information concerning the injury.

Pierce has delivered a big play spark to the offense on multiple times this season, establishing himself as one of the top downfield threats in sport.

Pierce has grabbed 13-of-22 throws for 368 yards at a league-leading 28.3 yards per catch, including three touchdowns. In addition to being a big play threat, Pierce’s offseason goal was to show off his flexibility and ability to make an impact in other areas of the field, which we saw in the Colts’ game against Green Bay.

Having said that, the big play has been Pierce’s bread and butter. Pierce has six receptions on pass attempts of at least 20 yards, which is tied for the most in football, as well as 295 receiving yards. Pierce has six receptions and is averaging nearly 50 yards per catch.

We’ll see if Pierce returns to practice on Friday. Michael Pittman and Josh Downs are also listed as injured receivers, despite the fact that both practiced on Thursday–Pittman in full capacity and Downs in restricted capacity.
