Colts urged to sign former Browns and Dolphins speedster

The Indianapolis Colts had won five of their previous six games into last week’s game in Atlanta, but that rapidly turned into two landslide road losses in the last three weeks.

The Colts were overwhelmed in the trenches by the Falcons and were defeated 29-10. They were defeated 34-14 by the Bengals in Cincinnati two weeks ago. The Colts’ storyline has shifted, and they may want some assistance in the final two games.

They’ll be relieved that the final two games against the Raiders and Texans are at home. The Colts should recruit former Cleveland Browns and current Miami Dolphins wide receiver Anthony Schwartz to help loosen up defenses, according to Bleacher Report (B/R).

“The Colts front office has valued athleticism in the draft in recent years,” B/R wrote in an email. “They are always looking to add exceptional athleticism to their roster.”Anthony Schwartz may not be the most well-rounded player or athlete, but he does have outstanding speed. At Auburn’s pro day in 2021, the receiver recorded a 4.27 40-yard sprint and possesses the speed to get away from defenses.

“With a receiver room that has been hampered by injuries and is still under construction for 2024, poaching Schwartz from the Dolphins’ practice squad would give the Colts an opportunity to see what he can do.”

With little over 11 days remaining in the regular season, it may be too late to try to bring in a receiver from another team’s practice squad. If the Colts had to take a gamble, why not take a chance on a 10.09 100-meter sprinter?
