The Colts just visited with one of the top wideout prospects at the NFL Combine this year, but will he be available

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Indianapolis Colts are among the NFL teams that visited with Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze during this past week’s NFL Combine (via The Roar’s Billy Marshall):

This past season, the 6’2″, 212-pound junior wideout caught 92 catches for 1,640 receiving yards (17.8 ypr. average.) and 13 touchdown grabs in 15 starts, earning consensus All-American and All-Pac 12 honors (the latter for the second straight season).

Odunze had a very good 9.69 RAS out of a maximum of 10.0 after recording his recent NFL Combine metrics:

Given Odunze’s exceptionally high level of collegiate performance and great athleticism—as an exceptional ‘contested catch’ artist—it’s easy to see why the Colts would be extremely impressed with him as a top wideout prospect. Not to mention his high level of competition.

There’s no doubt that Odunze would be a’slam dunk’ selection with Indy’s 15th overall pick, as the ‘1A’ to re-sign Michael Pittman Jr.’s ‘1B’ in the Colts passing game—and by providing 2nd-year QB Anthony Richardson with an outstanding receiver to work with in the future.

That being said, it would be remarkable if he falls outside of the Top 7-10 players picked in this year’s draft, implying that Indianapolis would have to trade up to obtain him.
