Colts: Pat McAfee Admitted He Lied To GM Before …

The Indianapolis Colts had no idea they’d choose a kicker who would go on to become a successful punter before retiring and becoming the most influential figure in sports journalism.

Pat McAfee is now officially a one-of-a-kind figure in today’s cutting-edge sports media scene.

The former Indianapolis Colts punter, who was selected in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft, started a podcast after his long NFL career and has changed the way sports media is looked at and consumed, paving the way for shows like New Heights with the Kelce brothers and an informal, funny, yet informative, behind-the-scenes look at everything NFL and college football.

However, it appears that McAfee — in a media world where any minor misstep can result in a cancellation – has complete authority and cannot be controlled.

This was evident when he recently publicly called out one of the top executives by name. Pat McAfee did not hold back when voicing his displeasure with top ESPN exec Norby Williamson, who has apparently been less than thrilled with the content he’s bringing to the World Wide Leader’s airwaves and was called out by the hottest name in sports media for allegedly leaking misleading ratings information.

McAfee has a unique contract. He is a talent for College GameDay and a weekly guest on First Take, although his Pat McAfee Show airs on ESPN under a separate licensing agreement. That has resulted in various disagreements with management, most notably Norby Williamson.

McAfee also defended NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers after he alluded to Jimmy Kimmel’s connection with child trafficker Jeffrey Epstein earlier this year.

McAfee’s entrance has marked a sharp break from the buttoned-up image that President Jimmy Pitaro attempted to build since entering office in 2017.

On a recent episode of “Bussin with the Boys” featuring former NFL players Will Compton and Taylor Lewan, Stephen A. Smith commented on McAfee’s arrival at ESPN.

“I’m madly in love with Pat McAfee. I adore his swag and the fact that he’s an honest brother. He doesn’t care … “That’s my kind of guy,” Smith stated. “That works for me.”
