Colts offer updates on two key players before a big clash

The Indianapolis Colts will be fighting for a postseason spot over the next three weeks, and it appears that two of their greatest offensive players will be available for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Michael Pittman Jr., the Colts’ best receiver, was placed in concussion protocol last week after taking a devastating helmet-to-helmet blow from a Pittsburgh Steelers defender. Fortunately, he was able to participate fully in practice on Friday. Pittman has completed the concussion protocol, according to head coach Shane Steichen.

Jonathan Taylor, the team’s star running back, is also expected to return in Week 16. Taylor had thumb surgery during Indy’s Week 12 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has missed three games since. Taylor returned to practice this week, and Steichen stated on Friday that he “looked good.”

The Colts are 8-6 on the season and have won four of their last five games. They are tied for first place in the AFC South with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans, albeit the Jaguars presently possess the tiebreaker.

If both Taylor and Pittman can play on Sunday, the Colts should receive a significant boost on offense.
