Colts have signed a defensive end to their practice squad

On Thursday, the Colts made a roster change.

In addition, the NFL suspended practice squad defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad for the next six games on Wednesday for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substance rules.

Derek Rivers, a defensive end, was signed to the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad today.

Rivers, 6-5, 250 pounds, has appeared in 24 games (one start) with the Houston Texans (2021-23), Los Angeles Rams (2020), and New England Patriots (2017-20).

He has 16 solo tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. Rivers has also played in three postseason games, recording one special teams tackle. The Patriots selected him in the third round (83rd overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Youngstown State. Rivers has spent time on the Texans’ active roster and practice squad in 2023, but has yet to play in a game.
